Holy Hill to Port Washington WI HD ride

In keeping with Harley's break in instructions (under 3k RPM's, no lugging, no long highway runs for the first 500 miles), we did a nice 100 miler this morning to Holy Hill and Port Washington. It was a super gorgeous day and we are thoroughly enjoying the bike. Check out the photos we took-amazing!

May 30 2014 Wisconsin Harley Davidson in Oconomowoc WI

Well, we did it. After a 7 hour ride last weekend on the back of my beloved HD soft tail deluxe, my wife said enough is enough--we are getting something bigger!! I did some checking around and the HD Ultra Classic was the logical choice--living in Milwaukee you pretty well are going to ride HD, or die. We started looking at the used market and then headed over to our local Harley dealer. Wisconsin HD in Oconomowoc WI was very gracious and allowed us to ride anything we wanted and boy are we glad we did-- the 2014 Electra glide limited was such a drastic improvement over 2013 and older models that it wasn't even worth talking about. I hate buying new anything but after the demo rides it was clear what direction we were going. After a little haggling over price and trade in value, we got'er done. The above photo is us just leaving the dealership after delivery. Check out the other photo and first ride videos shown below. The new HID lights are AMAZING!

April-May news

Happy Memorial day!

I personally would like to thank all of our country's veterans for their service to me, my family and this great country-hug a vet today!! The daily freedoms we enjoy (and sometimes take for granted) come at the expense of these great people and their families.

After having our latest sailboat deal fall through (again!!), it looks like we will be taking a rest from sailboat ownership this season. I have a number of opportunities to race around my area and plan on taking advantage of those starting next week! I have been able to do some spring water skiing already and it has been nice-- and cold!!

Last weekend, the wife and I decided to jump on the Harley and take a long ride to the Quack Shack located near Ferryville WI, on the Mississippi river-- my co captains' weekend retreat aptly named for his affinity for hunting duck. It's a 3 1/2 hour ride one way along the Wisconsin river which is amazingly scenic and serene. What great therapy it was for both of us! We took a few stills and some video on our go pro so enjoy the blast of WI 35 from Prarie Du Chien to Ferryville!
